about

The title is a reference to my late cat and dear friend Annie, who recently passed away.

Review by Soundscape Underground:
"Feeling depressed? Or moody? Don't worry, we've got the perfect music for your soul. Jonathan Fraser is a solo acoustic musician from Huntington Beach, California who also indulges in a variety of genres like post rock, ambient and drone. His latest album 'After 13 Years, You Left Us and Flew to the Sky' was released on 24 August 2014. Jonathan has been active in the scene for the past five years 6 releases and still remains unknown. Wow, he is a true underground artist!
As explained by Jonathan himself, this album is dedicated to the memory of his cat - Annie, who sadly, passed away last year. May her soul rest in peace. So touching, isn't it? Wait till you listen to his music; its equally heart breaking yet one of the most touching albums we've heard in a long time. There is a certain sense of ecstasy floating around in the opening song 'Shattered Glass', especially with the ambient fills in the background and the high notes in the middle section gives us the tickles down our neck. From there on, its a roller coaster ride from the slightly melancholic yet nostalgic 'Inanimate Objects Making the Feeling of Pain Drift Away' to the uptempo, happy, sugar rush inducing melody in 'Tell Me What Makes You Smile'. There are plenty of mood swings throughout the album and every song makes a tangible approach to the soul. We surely feel Jonathan's grief through various tracks, but there is a ray of hope carefully embedded in each track that needs to be experienced rather than just read. So, shed some tears, be with your loved ones or by yourself admiring the beauty of nature with a hot cup of coffee in rainy evenings; this is the kind of music you want to be playing in your music players!"
