about

This EP is dedicated to my late friend Clayton Counts. On November 22nd, he never woke up from his sleep. Clayton was one of the most fascinating and interesting musicians, and people in general, that I had ever interacted with despite never personally meeting him. You never knew what to expect from him and what he had to say. Sometimes I couldn't even understand what he was talking about with me because the things he would talk about were beyond my comprehension. But the absurdity of his personality and mannerism is really what made me, and a lot of other people, admire him. If there was a walking representation of a non-conformist, its was definitely Clayton and I loved that about him. He was a very nice guy at the heart and he always supported my work just as I supported his (he was in a experimental group called Bull of Heaven and an infamous mashup band called the Beachles). We even discussed collaborating for a few years. The last message he ever sent was that he wanted me to contribute to a reworked Bull of Heaven piece. Now we will never know what else he had to offer, which is probably the saddest part of him now being gone. We wont be able to read the novels he was working on, the supposed documentary about him, or any of his future music. There will never another man like Clayton Counts in this world ever again. But what he left behind will never be forgotten. His music will always be remembered and loved (and hated) by fans and critics alike. This EP is not a mourning of his sudden passing, but a celebration of his life and the joy he brought to his followers, family and friends.
